Ever seen the canals of Amsterdam lighten up by colourful light sculptures?

The Amsterdam Light Festival is an annual festival of light, art and water. It features various illuminated artworks, spread throughout the the historical center of Amsterdam. Visitors are treated to a true spectacle of light! At the same time, the festival offers talented (young) light artists a platform to present their latest work.

For this video, we filmed and timelapse-photographed some of the impressive artworks of the 2 most recent editions (2015 / 2016 and 2014 / 2015).

The event features two routes: a boat route (Water Colors) and a walking route (Illuminade). Art works from both routes are featured in this video.

Want to check out this unique event in real life? You’ll have to wait till next winter. The next edition of the festival will run from late November 2016 to mid January 2017.
